Document Destruction Process

Weighing a secure containerThe Document Destruction Process:

  • Containers are securely locked. Only Beacon Secure has the keys to your container so that nobody tampers with the contents
  • We keep a record of where the containers are located in your facility, ensuring that we collect all containers each visit
  • Employees follow precise security procedures when picking up and loading your confidential materials
  • All vehicles have lockable, secure, enclosed cargo areas and lockable cabs
  • Confidential documents go from the locked containers, to our locked trucks and then to our secure facility. There they are shredded, usually within one day
  • Your materials are weighed on a digital scale that ensures accurate records for you
  • Your confidential papers are destroyed by shredding equipment. Beacon Secure offers three shred sizes: ½” strips meet most requirements; 5/16" strips meet the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service; and cross-cut disintegration meets Security Level Six requirements. Other shredders yield larger, less secure, 5/8" shred size. Strip shreds are also baled and recycled for new paper
  • A Certificate of Destruction is included with your invoice. The chain of custody is never broken or compromised. From pickup to destruction, your materials are always secure
